Hey everyone,
You must have often heard about the war going on in Syria right now. Well, since you and me are all busy people we missed all the details about the civil war and the loss of lives and the U.S concern and other stuff which isn't really affecting us. Even though it isn't our fault to have missed all the news it would be pretty cool if we did come to know about our fellow human brother and sisters who are suffering there.
So let me tell you about it in our general language like a story.
In 2011, there were nationwide protests against Syria's president Bashar-Al-Assad's government. His family had ruled Syria since forever so he became the president. The problem the protesters had was inequality because of different castes, no development in some areas and no human rights.
Initially all the rebellion and protests were for the benefit of the country, but later shifted to overthrowing Assad's government. And after the government reacted with violence and thousands of people were killed or detained, the war was officially on.
Many anti-governmental groups had been formed by the end of 2011's July. FSA was a very famous one of them. They avoided direct confrontation with the government after they were beaten in a battle but after a while it got support from around Turkey border and they started attacking Syria and eventually gained control over some towns near Turkey.
Even more opposition forces came and there was more of attacking and bombing and battles. rebels forces started taking control of the cities. The government obviously fought back and succeeded sometimes, but it was basically the people suffering by the attacks supposed to be on the rebels or from the rebels.
On 12 June 2012, the UN officially said the Syria was having a civil war (woah we have been surviving a war from so long!) There were some tremors on the Syria- Turkey relations, but they became okay after FSA shifted from Turkey to some rebel areas in Syria.
Now the fights went on and on and the poor people suffered due to the start of revolution.
The ISIS, then came in the end of 2013 and it was even stronger than the rebel groups. ISIS had conflicts with the rebels and they too fought against each other.
Almost all the refugees need some sort of protection to survive. The ISIS wants people to convert into their religion.
The UN disagreed with the war and tried to check up on the use of chemical weapons. The US, the UK and European and Arab states have declared a readiness to support the mainstream Syrian opposition.
And recently the ISIS demanded money from US and other governments in return of freeing their soldiers captured by the ISIS and killed one in the process of warning.
It's all pretty 'history book worthy' I think. There is so much more to it than this, there are time, place and events which I haven't mentioned because they make us forget the main story. So if you want to know when and where the attacks happened try Wikipedia. But that's the main thing though, if you know this much you know about Syria's condition.
So I guess things bigger than Gangnam style are happening around the world. But since nobody has the time to learn about it all from various sources, you can read my blogs to know the story.
